A large platter, handmade from local yellow birch in our shop in Downeast Maine.

We salvaged this beautiful piece of yellow birch in Hulls Cove, Maine. We shaped this platter on our lathe and textured the bottom inside surface with a flowing faceted texture using a hook knife. This large plate was turned while the wood was green, and we allowed the shaping to develop while drying to a naturally curved, ovular form.

The surface of this plate has been finished with organic solvent-free linseed oil and candelilla wax. This one-of-a-kind, non-replicable platter is perfectly suitable for food use.

About 10 1/2" across by 2" tall overall. This platter is not perfectly round in shape due to the natural drying process of the wood.

You will receive the same exact platter as in the photos. The spoon is not included.
