A rustic step stool, plant stand, or altar table handmade from local red oak with a charred black top. Created with naturally beautiful and imperfect materials; Crafted with appealing simplicity.

A vivid splash of yellow paint creates a lovely contrast to any leafy green houseplant, or adds a cheerful tone to any room when used as a step stool, a small children's bench, a night stand, or an altar table. Multi-functional and adaptable for quick-changing living spaces and ways of living.

We personally cut the wood used in this plant stand from our property in Downeast Maine. The legs are made from crooked and wonky branches and the top from a slab. The legs peek through the top of the stool and the entirety is fastened together with wedges. We set a black walnut arikata into a surface crack before charring the entire top with flame. The legs have been finished with homemade mustard yellow linseed oil paint, and the entire surface has been finished lightly with linseed oil to seal the charcoal.

If used heavily as a step stool, the surface will need to be sealed further to prevent the charcoal rubbing off.

The top surface of the stand measures 11 7/8" at the widest by 9 3/8" at the deepest.
Overall, the stand measures 16 3/8" wide by 12 3/8" at the deepest by 13" at the tallest.
